International pop legend, Leo Sayer (now a Sydney resident), recently commissioned T-Rex Art to design his new album: "Don't wait until tomorrow" which is expected to become a huge international hit particularly in the US. The album which was produced by Garth Porter (Sherbet), features 12 of Leo's past hits re-recorded as swing tracks.
The whole design process started with Leo's original basic design. For the record Leo was once a graphic designer! What followed was a collaboration of Leo Sayer and Theo Kats. The choice of pics for the front and back of the cover were Leo's. Theo added the classic touch by incorporating traditional swirls as titles to tracks as well as a cover border.
The basic feel of the booklet is a page per track featuring a pic of Leo and lyrics headed by an 'echoing' swirl font. This sets the mood for the track. The pics were all taken by Kristian Dowling and were colour tweaked for effect by Theo Kats in Adobe Photoshop.
